Casa Hogar Saludable (Healthy House and Home)

Casa Hogar Saludable (Healthy House and Home) is a program in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. Small Change 4 Big Change offers cooking classes for women to teach new recipes using fruits and vegetables harvested from the garden or other healthy recipes, such as soy milk, tropical salad, veggie patties, crepes, banana bread, and detox smoothies. We use a Small Change 4 Big Change ecological stove so the women learn new ways to use it, as well (all the of the women have been given a stove). We also have formed a sewing cooperative where women are learning to sew using upcycled weaving and market new products. We provide activities in the reading room while the women are in class. For more info, email lisa@bigchange.net.
